Since the country is caught up in the presidential election, I thought it would be a good idea to give my thoughts on a few things. Now, first of all, I am a Democrat (would probably qualify as a moderate one). However, I am not one of the many people who believe anyone who is not in my party must be lunatic of some sort. After all, can millions of people have the same psychosis? I think not. I believe it to simply be a case of priorities. But I digress.

What I wanted to address was the Sarah Palin pick by McCain. Now, while she is experiencing some situations that are common to Americans, it is a public relations mess … especially for a Republican candidate! The way I see it, the Republicans decided after the Obama speech at the DNC to make a splash to steal his thunder and out comes the rabbit from the hat. This woman was on nobody’s radar for the VP selection.

Now, I don’t know what type of VP she would make, but it seems to me to be more of a desperate move to go after straggler supporters of Hillary Clinton. But the joke will be on them because Hillary Clinton got her votes for being a tough and experienced candidate, not because she’s a woman. There can be no way her background was thoroughly checked out before they put her on the ticket. Even if she’s potentially the best VP ever, she (and McCain for selecting her) will take beating over the next two months.

I believe when it is all said and done, they’ll gravely regret making this move.
